The Glenwood Tutoring Program currently serves over 50 K-12 students every Monday and Tuesday for after-school tutoring. On Wednesday afternoons, over 30 students come for life skills classes including art, gospel choir, and scrapbooking. In 2009, we extended the tutoring year for elementary school students, offering a weekly summer reading program in partnership with the Glenwood branch of the Greensboro Public Library.
We always have a waiting list of students who want to join the program. Because we recognize the high value of individual tutoring, we only admit new students to the program when we have enough tutors to provide 1-to-1 tutoring. If you are interested in becoming a tutor, email Suzanne Mathis, Tutoring Director. Monday/Tuesday tutoring takes place 4:30-6:30 pm at Grace Community Church in Greensboro, NC. Tutors are asked to commit to one day of tutoring per week.
